Egypt Removes Seven-Star Crest from World Cup Kits

Egypt's national football team will not feature the seven-star crest on their FIFA World Cup kits, as mandated by FIFA regulations. The crest traditionally symbolizes Egypt's victories in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Egyptian Football Association (Egyptian FA) confirmed that they received a request from FIFA to amend the kit design, which was created by Puma, several months in advance of the competition. Mohan Morad Thabet, a media officer for the Egyptian FA, explained that FIFA's guidelines clearly stipulate that stars can only be allocated for World Cup victories.

The unique case of Uruguay, which has stars for both World Cup and Olympic titles, does not apply to Egypt. This will be Egypt's first return to the World Cup finals since 2018, where they will compete in Group G against Belgium, New Zealand, and Iran, aiming to reach the knockout stage for the first time in the country's history.
