Cleric Urges Peace and Sacrifice During Eid al-Adha

During the Eid al-Adha celebrations in Calabar, Cross River State, cleric Abdulhafeez called on Nigerians to prioritize peace and sacrifice. He highlighted that the essence of Eid al-Adha goes beyond the slaughter of animals, stressing that true sacrifice involves total submission to God.

Abdulhafeez explained that the festival commemorates the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim, who was willing to sacrifice his son in obedience to God's command. He urged the sharing of sacrificial meat with the less privileged to promote love, care, and social solidarity.

The cleric condemned the rising cases of communal clashes and violence in parts of the country, asserting that such conflicts do not define Nigerians. He encouraged all citizens, regardless of religion or ethnicity, to foster peace, unity, and mutual understanding across the nation.
