Oborevwori Calls for Special Prayers During Eid Celebrations

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has urged for special prayers for peace and unity as the Muslim community marks Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid el-Kabir. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Festu Ahon, on Wednesday, Oborevwori extended warm greetings to Muslims in Delta State and across Nigeria on this significant occasion.

He encouraged adherents of Islam to embrace the spirit of sacrifice that the celebration symbolizes and to engage in acts of charity, particularly towards the poor and vulnerable members of society. The governor stressed the importance of peace and coexistence among people of different faiths and called on citizens to promote harmony and tolerance during the festive period and beyond.

He emphasized that collective prayers and commitment are essential for nation-building, asserting that Nigeria will continue to progress towards peace, security, and sustainable development.
