Governor Abiodun Calls for Prayers Ahead of 2027 Elections

On Wednesday, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun called on religious leaders to engage in fervent prayers for peace and unity in Nigeria as the country approaches the 2027 general elections. Speaking during a 2 Rakat Eid prayer at the Lantoro prayer ground in Abeokuta, Abiodun highlighted the significance of prayer in ensuring stability and success in the upcoming elections.

He specifically urged clerics to pray for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, asserting that the peaceful conduct of the elections is crucial for the nation's unity. Abiodun noted that the state has enjoyed peace and development over the past seven years, attributing this progress to divine support and the prayers of religious leaders.

He also emphasized the importance of parents in fulfilling their responsibilities towards their children, especially as the country celebrates Children's Day. Sheikh Sa Addallah Bamigbola, the Chief Imam of Egbaland, echoed the governor's call for continued prayers for peace and selflessness in society.
