Oluyede Challenges Oyebanji to Debate Ahead of 2026 Elections

Wole Oluyede, the governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, has publicly challenged the current governor, Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to a debate ahead of the June 20, 2026 elections. During a strategic meeting with party members from 177 wards in Iker Ekiti, Oluyede outlined his policy proposals aimed at addressing the shortcomings of the current administration.

He identified key areas of underperformance, including delayed gratuity payments, limited access to affordable healthcare, poor infrastructure, and high unemployment rates. Oluyede proposed a structured and transparent gratuity payment plan, a comprehensive affordable health insurance scheme for vulnerable populations, and initiatives to stimulate job creation through small and medium enterprises.

He emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilization to ensure maximum voter turnout and urged party members to remain united in their campaign efforts. Notable figures in attendance included former lawmakers and party leaders who supported Oluyede's candidacy.
