APC and ADC Supporters Clash Over Vote-Buying in Ekiti

On the day of the governorship election in Ekiti, a clash occurred between supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ilaw, Ekiti. The altercation was sparked by allegations that a politician associated with the APC had brought an undisclosed amount of money to distribute at a polling unit.

Mr. Dare Bejid, an ADC candidate, was involved in the incident, which escalated into a fight after arguments arose over the alleged vote-buying.

An ADC supporter sustained a head injury during the fracas and was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment. The situation intensified when ADC members attempted to retrieve the money that was allegedly being distributed.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was commended for conducting the electoral exercise, despite the chaos that ensued shortly before the polling unit closed.
