David-Adesua Leaves ADC for PDP, Eyes Senate Seat

Ayodel David-Adesua, the former leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State, officially resigned from the party on April 21, 2026, to join the People's Democratic Party (PDP) as he seeks a senatorial ticket for the Ekiti North Senatorial District in the upcoming 2027 general elections. In his resignation letter addressed to the chairman of ADC in Ijesa Isu Ward 7, Ikole Local Government Area, David-Adesua expressed that his decision was final and driven by a desire to better serve his constituents and fulfill the purpose of achieving democratic dividends for the people of Ekiti North.

He highlighted his contributions to the ADC at various levels and emphasized the need for an effective political platform to foster development in the state, especially in light of the political realignment ahead of the June 20, 2026, governorship elections.
