Ekiti Chief Judge Frees 57 Inmates During Official Visit

The Chief Judge of Ekiti State made a significant decision to release 57 inmates during an official visit to a custodial center in Ado Ekiti. Chief Judge Justice Ogunmoy reviewed a total of 518 cases involving 511 male and 7 female inmates.

Six inmates were granted bail, nine were released due to lack of evidence, 42 were released unconditionally based on health issues or minor offenses. Justice Ogunmoy advised the released inmates to be good ambassadors and warned troublemakers that the law would catch up with them in Ekiti State.

This move aims to address overcrowding in correctional facilities and ensure justice is served appropriately.
