Ekiti Guber: Falegan and Oluyede Report Election Irregularities

Opeyemi Falegan, the Accord candidate for the Ekiti State governorship election, cast his vote at a polling unit in Idofin, Ado Ekiti, and raised serious concerns about vote buying, claiming that voters were being offered N20,000 each. He condemned the conduct of the election, stating that the presence of security personnel appeared to collaborate in these practices, which he argued fell short of democratic standards.

Falegan expressed disappointment at the prevalence of vote buying, stating, "It’s really sad to see vote buying everywhere." Meanwhile, Dr. Wole Oluyede, the governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP), reported incidents of voter intimidation and delays in the accreditation process at the Ikeri polling unit.

He noted that only a few voters were accredited within an hour of the polls opening and accused security operatives of intimidating voters, alleging the use of unofficial vehicles in the area. Oluyede warned that such developments could hinder eligible voters from exercising their franchise.
