Oyebanji Warns Against Fake News Ahead of Ekiti Election

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji warned opposition parties against the dissemination of fake news as the state approaches the June 20 governorship election. Speaking in Ado Ekiti during an engagement with the Artisan Private Sector Association, Oyebanji condemned the use of misinformation as a tactic to gain political sympathy and undermine opponents.

He urged that those aspiring to lead should not engage in character assassination or spread falsehoods. Oyebanji also announced plans to disburse funds to support 2,000 women in small businesses to promote economic inclusion in the state.

He advised traders to form cooperatives to access loans from the government bank, which will not grant loans to individuals. The governor received support from two union leaders, Mr. Ebenez Babatunde and Mr. Abiodun Gbenga, who praised his achievements in infrastructure, health, and education.

They expressed confidence in Oyebanji's ability to steer the state towards a prosperous future if re-elected.
