Ekiti State Governor Dissolves Cabinet, Sacks 19 Commissioners

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has dissolved the State Executive Council, leading to the sacking of 19 commissioners. The immediate dissolution was announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Habibat Adubiaro, in a statement issued on Sunday night, August 10.

The affected officials include commissioners, special advisers, and permanent secretaries. The Governor thanked the outgoing members of the council and wished them success in their future endeavors.

This move follows a similar development in Borno State, where Governor Babagana Zulum also dissolved his cabinet without giving an explanation. In a related development, Dr.

Nkiruka Madueke, the pioneer Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change, has been replaced by Omotenioye Majekodunmi. These changes reflect a trend of restructuring in various state governments across Nigeria.
