Eko Tourism Foundation Pursues Partnership with Mexico

The Eko Tourism Foundation (ETF), chaired by former Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, is pursuing a strategic tourism and investment partnership with Mexico. This initiative aims to position Lagos as a leading global tourism destination.

During a visit from the Honorary Consul of Mexico in Lagos, Biodun Otunola, Mohammed outlined key areas for collaboration, including joint tourism exchange programs and cultural festivals. He emphasized the importance of knowledge sharing and best practices, noting Mexico's successful tourism model as a valuable template for Nigeria.

The partnership is expected to reshape global perceptions of Nigeria and enhance its tourism sector, contributing positively to Lagos's economy. Mohammed extended a formal invitation to Mexican investors and tour operators to explore opportunities in Lagos, highlighting the region's vibrant cultural landscape and business environment.

The ETF, a non-profit organization, aims to promote tourism-friendly policies and has received strong endorsement from the federal government to align with global tourism standards.
