Lagos and Mexico Forge New Cultural and Tourism Partnership

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu emphasized his administration's commitment to collaborating with the Mexican government to strengthen cultural exchange and unlock tourism opportunities. This announcement was made during a courtesy visit from the Mexican Ambassador to Nigeria, Alfredo Ortiz, who was accompanied by Honorary Consul of Mexico in Lagos, Abiodun Otunola.

Sanwo-Olu described the opening of the Honorary Consulate in Lagos as a significant step towards expanding bilateral relations and cooperation between Nigeria and Mexico. He acknowledged Mexico's willingness to collaborate with Nigeria in addressing common challenges, including insecurity, and strengthening diplomatic and economic partnerships.

The governor expressed readiness to work with Mexico to promote business partnerships, sports collaboration, and tourism development, aiming to create an enabling environment that attracts investors and tourists to Lagos. The Mexican government remains committed to expanding bilateral relations with Nigeria, particularly through trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.
