El-Kanemi and Shooting Stars Win in CAF Competitions

El-Kanemi Warriors and Shooting Stars commenced their CAF inter-club campaigns successfully, with El-Kanemi securing a 3-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau’s UDIB in the Confederation Cup. The match took place at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, where Nnamdi Mejuobi scored the first goal in the 52nd minute, followed by a penalty conversion four minutes later, and Dayo Wahab completed the scoring in the 88th minute.

This win positions El-Kanemi strongly for the return leg. Meanwhile, Shooting Stars defeated Tunisian club CS Sfaxien 1-0, with Lucky Emmanuel netting the only goal in the 25th minute.

Rivers United and Rangers International, representing Nigeria in the Champions League, both drew their matches 1-1 against FC San Pedro of Côte d’Ivoire and AS Sobemap of Benin Republic, respectively. All four Nigerian clubs remain in contention for the next round as they prepare for their return fixtures.
