Shooting Stars and El Kanemi Warriors Drawn in CAF Cup

Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup, Shooting Stars of Ibadan and El Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, have been assigned their opponents for the First Preliminary Round. The matches are set to take place from September 4th to 6th, with return legs scheduled for September 11th to 13th.

Shooting Stars will face Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in both home and away matches. If they advance, they will meet either AF Amadou Diallo of Côte d’Ivoire or Sierra Leone’s East End Lions in the second preliminary round.

El Kanemi Warriors will play against UDIB of Guinea-Bissau, and if successful, they will encounter Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in the next round. The Second Preliminary Round is slated for October 16th-18th, with return matches from October 23rd-25th.

Clubs eliminated in the preliminary stage will receive a USD 100,000 solidarity payment from CAF. The tournament offers a total prize of USD 4 million for the eventual champions.
