El-Rufai Granted EFCC Bail Amid Possible DSS Arrest

Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, was granted administrative bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after being detained on Monday. His detention followed an invitation from the anti-graft agency regarding allegations of misappropriating ₦423 billion during his eight-year tenure as governor.

El-Rufai assembled a legal team to navigate the situation. However, he may face arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS), which has reportedly deployed personnel to the EFCC headquarters in Jabi.

This potential arrest is linked to a separate investigation involving cybercrime charges filed against him on Monday, which allege that he bugged the phone of Nigeria's National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. The situation has escalated following recent explosive claims regarding the importation of poisonous Polish products into Nigeria.
