El-Rufai Family Protests DSS Detention of Former Governor

Nasir El-Rufai's family, including his second wife Asia El-Rufai and first wife Hasiat El-Rufai, protested outside the DSS headquarters regarding his detention. They expressed concerns over his transfer from ICPC custody to DSS custody, despite a court order directing that he remain with ICPC.

Asia El-Rufai alleged that the DSS denied her husband access to his physician, despite a court order permitting such access. The former governor's legal proceedings were presided over by Justice Joyc Abdulmalik at the Federal High Court, which adjourned the matter until Tuesday.

Lawal Adamu, a senator, called for El-Rufai's release, arguing that the bail conditions imposed on him were politically motivated and difficult to meet. El-Rufai's son, Bello El-Rufai, also spoke out against the situation, emphasizing the psychological pressure faced by the family.

The DSS and ICPC have not officially responded to the family's claims.
