Hajiya Umma El-Rufai's Funeral Scheduled in Abuja

Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, the mother of Nasir El-Rufai, is set to be laid to rest in Abuja. A statement released by the family indicated that the janazah prayer will take place at the National Mosque in Abuja on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM, followed by burial at Gudu Cemetery.

The family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and condolences during this time of grief. They requested that Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her the highest place in Aljannatul Firdau.

Hajiya Umma El-Rufai passed away after undergoing treatment in a hospital in Cairo, Egypt. Her son, Nasir El-Rufai, has been in detention for a month.

Condolences have been issued by prominent figures, including President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, as well as Malam Nuhu Ribadu and Prof. Netanw Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who visited the El-Rufai residence in Abuja.
