Shehu Sani Critiques El-Rufai's Support Base and Criticism

Shehu Sani, the former lawmaker for Kaduna Central Senatorial District, spoke during an interview on Channel Television regarding the criticisms directed at President Bola Tinubu by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. Sani claimed that El-Rufai's supporters are not from Kaduna State and suggested that El-Rufai's bitterness stemmed from being denied a ministerial position.

He emphasized that El-Rufai has taken every opportunity to criticize the current administration, particularly concerning national security and governance. Sani noted that El-Rufai's past role as governor should warrant a level of decorum in his criticisms, especially given his previous eight-year tenure.

He pointed out that El-Rufai's current stance contradicts his earlier beliefs regarding the rule of law, human rights, and democracy, suggesting a lack of consistency in his principles.
