Dadiyata's Abduction: Critic of El-Rufai, Not Ganduje

Shehu Sani, a human rights activist, clarified that Dadiyata, a lecturer in English Linguistics at the Federal University Dutsinma in Katsina State, was an outspoken critic of Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, not Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje. Dadiyata was abducted from his home in Kaduna on August 2, 2019, by masked men who took his car and later returned it.

Since his disappearance, there has been no trace or conclusive findings from investigations, and no formal explanation has been provided by authorities. Sani emphasized that Dadiyata's criticisms were directed at the Kaduna State government, and he was not a fierce critic of the Kano State government.

Despite the serious nature of the incident, there has been no official statement from the Kaduna State government regarding Dadiyata's abduction, nor has there been an official visit to his family. The fear surrounding the case has silenced many, including police and local officials, from speaking out.
