Ameh Accuses Tinubu of Lying About Election Glitches

In an interview with Trust TV on Thursday, Peter Ameh, the former chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), accused President Bola Tinubu of lying regarding alleged glitches in Nigeria's electoral system. Ameh stated that there is no problem with the electoral system and criticized Tinubu's claims as untrue.

He emphasized that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan, operates under Section 133 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which grants it independence.

Ameh pointed out that INEC has successfully managed electoral transmissions, citing the Anambra elections as an example. He expressed concern over the government's unpopularity and the fear among citizens regarding the electoral process, suggesting that the current administration is not representing the people's interests.

Ameh called for necessary reforms to address these issues and improve the electoral infrastructure in Nigeria.
