Peter Obi Critiques Tinubu's Electricity Promises

Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has criticized President Bola Tinubu for failing to deliver on campaign promises related to electricity provision. Obi pointed out that during Tinubu's previous term, he did not vote for a second term and failed to provide stable electricity.

He noted that since taking office, Tinubu has abandoned the national grid, resulting in poor performance in power supply. Obi stated that Nigerians do not expect 100 percent fulfillment of promises but rather 100 percent effort to improve the situation.

He expressed concern over the government's neglect of the national grid and the need for institutions to strengthen and expand it for the benefit of citizens. Obi lamented the disconnect between the government and ordinary Nigerians, who rely on stable power for business growth.

He also referenced the 2025 budget allocation of 10 billion for solar power and criticized the government's approach to renewable energy, emphasizing the need for a clear commitment to addressing power supply issues.
