Elegbeleye Lauds President Tinubu on Pedro’s Appointment

Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), praised President Tinubu for appointing Rotimi Pedro as the Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Elegbeleye described Pedro's appointment as a positive step towards revitalizing sports broadcasting in the country.

He commended Pedro for being a strong advocate for commercial broadcasting in Nigeria for over a decade through his sports marketing firm, OSMI. Elegbeleye expressed optimism that Pedro's private sector background would bring dynamic changes to NTA's approach to sports broadcasting.

Pedro, as the CEO of OSMI, has experience in acquiring television rights for major global sporting events like the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, and CAF Nations Cup. The NPFL Chairman looks forward to collaborating with NTA to bring matches to a wider audience and boost the sport economy in Nigeria.
