Matawalle Urges Troops to Intensify Counter-Terrorism Efforts

Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, has issued a directive to all military formations engaged in counter-terrorism operations across the North-West of Nigeria.

In a statement released on Sunday by his Personal Assistant on Media, Ahmed Dan-Wudil, Matawalle urged troops to adopt every lawful and necessary measure to eliminate terrorists, particularly in light of recent attacks in Zamfara. He expressed condolences to victims and reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to restoring peace and security in the region.

Matawalle specifically instructed Operation Fansan Yamma and military formations in Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto, and Kaduna states to intensify operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks. He called on traditional rulers and community leaders to assist security agencies with timely intelligence on individuals suspected of aiding terrorists.

Additionally, he commended the Armed Forces for their gallantry and professionalism, praising recent operations that neutralized several suspected terrorists in various locations.
