Matawalle Orders Military to Intensify Operations in Zamfara

Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, has directed the military to intensify operations in the Northwest region of Nigeria after recent terrorist attacks in Bungudu and other communities in Zamfara state.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his personal assistant on Media, Ahmed Dan Wudil, Dr. Matawalle expressed condolences to the victims and reaffirmed the federal government's commitment to restoring peace and security in the region.

He specifically instructed the leadership of Operation Fansan Yamma to remain steadfast in the fight against terrorism and to collaborate with other security agencies in affected areas. The minister ordered military formations involved in counter-terrorism operations to enhance their efforts in Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto, and Kaduna states.

Troops were directed to adopt all lawful measures to eliminate terrorist activities through surgical operations. Senior military commanders were also instructed to strengthen surveillance and increase patrols to identify and destroy terrorist hideouts before they can launch further attacks.
