X Announces Final Revenue Sharing Payout Date for Creators

X has officially announced that the final payout for its Revenue Sharing programme will occur on September 11, 2026. This marks the conclusion of a scheme that allowed creators to earn based on advertising activity and engagement with their posts.

Following this, creators will transition to the new Original Content Rewards (OCR) programme, with the first payments under this new system scheduled for September 25, 2026. Allegra Jacchia, X's product manager focused on creators, stated that the previous incentives had become misaligned, prompting the shift to a system that rewards originality and valuable content creation rather than merely engagement metrics.

Creators who previously participated in Revenue Sharing must secure approval for the OCR programme to continue monetizing their content. This change reflects X's broader strategy to enhance creator rewards and encourage the production of original material on the platform.
