X Launches New Original Content Rewards Programme

X has officially announced the termination of its Revenue Sharing programme and the launch of a new initiative called the Original Content Rewards programme, aimed at incentivizing creators for producing original content. This change was communicated on Friday via the X Creators handle.

The company will cease new enrollments into the Revenue Sharing programme immediately, while current participants will continue to receive earnings until September 7, 2026. Existing participants will receive three final payouts, with two scheduled for August 14 and August 28, and a final payment expected around September 11.

From September 8, creators can apply for the new programme, which requires them to meet specific eligibility criteria, including being at least 18 years old, having a minimum of 500 verified followers, and generating at least 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days. Payments under the new programme will be made bi-weekly based on qualified impressions from original content.
