Eric Chell has been appointed as the head coach of Nigeria's senior football team, with a focus on integrating young talent into the Super Eagles. He has sent scouts to assess Emmanuel Fernandez, a central defender born to Nigerian parents, currently playing for Glasgow Rangers.

Fernandez, who has recently gained attention amid a transfer battle involving Arsenal and Chelsea, has pledged to represent Nigeria internationally despite being born in London.
