Minister Highlights Women's Empowerment for National Growth

During a graduation ceremony in Abuja, Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, stated that empowering women is essential for national development. She addressed the graduates, noting that women are vital catalysts for inclusive economic growth.

The minister praised the partnerships that support initiatives aimed at empowering Nigerian women, emphasizing that collaboration between government and non-state actors can unlock women's full potential. She acknowledged the transformative impact of the graduates, who are emerging as innovators and change-makers.

Ibrahim reaffirmed the government's commitment to empowering 50 million women across Nigeria's 774 local government areas, aiming to make them economically self-reliant and provide necessary support for their families. Taibat Ajiboy, founder of the Revamp Initiative, disclosed that 50 women graduated from the program, which targeted individuals from various communities, including internally displaced persons and students from different universities.

The minister expressed her satisfaction with the program's alignment with the ministry's goals.
