Soludo's Aide Advocates Ending Sit-at-Home in Anambra

Evarist Uba, a special adviser to Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, stated that ending the five-year sit-at-home order is in the best interest of the state.

The ongoing exercise reportedly costs Anambra approximately N8 billion monthly in lost revenue. Uba highlighted that the governor has implemented measures to ensure security and improve access to major markets, which are vital for economic and commercial activities.

The sit-at-home order has been detrimental, prompting the state government to take action to reopen markets such as Onitsha Main Market and Nnewi Auto Spare Parts Market. Uba also noted the importance of compliance among traders and the need for a peaceful atmosphere to foster economic growth.

He mentioned ongoing infrastructure developments, including road constructions to facilitate market access. The governor's administration aims to eliminate the sit-at-home practice, which Uba described as a "monster," and restore normalcy in commercial activities across the state.
