Ekiti Governor Calls for Equitable Tax System at JTB Strategic Retreat

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, urged the Joint Tax Board (JTB) to ensure an effective and equitable tax system for all Nigerians during the 2025 JTB Strategic Retreat. Governor Oyebanji emphasized the importance of tax reforms proposed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to drive economic growth and enhance citizen welfare.

The reforms aim to deepen the tax base, increase revenue mobilization, simplify compliance procedures, and promote transparency and accountability in revenue agencies. The governor highlighted that the implementation of these reforms in 2026 will reshape revenue mobilization processes for sustainable development, focusing on enhancing living standards and promoting digitalization in tax administration.
