Nigeria's Non-Oil Exports Surge to $6.1 Billion in 2025, NEPC Emphasizes Transparency

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) led by Executive Director Nony Ayeni highlights the country's non-oil export achievements, reaching $6.1 billion in 2025, marking an 11.5% increase from the previous year. This growth is attributed to efforts to improve transparency and consistency in reporting foreign exchange earnings.

Ayeni emphasizes the need for uniformity in data to drive economic diversification and enhance Nigeria's export competitiveness. The NEPC commits to doubling performance through various export-oriented initiatives and capacity-building efforts.

Dr. Jumok Oduwol, from the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, notes a 21% growth in non-oil exports to $12.8 billion in the first half of 2025, underlining the sector's crucial role in reducing oil dependency and stabilizing the economy.
