Enugu 2026: NSC to Inspect Facilities for Sports Festival

The National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Enugu State Government are preparing for the 23rd National Sports Festival, known as the "Coal City Games, Enugu 2026." A comprehensive inspection of sports facilities, accommodation, and transportation will occur on August 26 and 27, 2026, led by Hon. Bukola Olopade, the Director General of the NSC and Chairman of the Main Organising Committee (MOC). The MOC will arrive in Enugu on August 25, 2026, to assess the readiness of the venues and identify any urgent areas needing attention.

Following the inspection, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) will unveil the official logo and mascot for the Games on August 28, 2026. This unveiling aims to enhance public awareness and establish a distinct identity for the festival.

The NSC emphasizes that early identification of challenges is crucial for the successful delivery of the Games, and the inspection will strengthen coordination between federal sports authorities and the Enugu State Government.
