NSC Inspects Lagos Facilities for 2026 National Games

On Saturday, officials from the National Sports Commission (NSC), along with members of the Main Organising Committee (MOC) and Local Organising Committee (LOC), conducted an inspection of facilities in Lagos in preparation for the inaugural National Intermediate Games, set to take place from October 1 to 15, 2026. The inspection commenced at Teslim Balogun Stadium, where the delegation, led by Niyi Beyioku, Head of Grassroots Development, evaluated the facilities' readiness.

Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Development, represented the Director General of the NSC. The team assessed various venues, including the National Stadium Complex, National Institute for Sports, and Mobolaji Johnson Arena, which is being considered for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

A total of 28 sports will be featured in the Games, aimed at athletes under 19 years old. Athletes are expected to arrive on October 1, with the Opening Ceremony scheduled for October 5.

The inspection reflects the commitment to ensuring all arrangements are in place for a successful event.
