Enugu APC Elects New South East Zonal Executives

On Wednesday, the Enugu chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted a consensus congress to elect new South East zonal executives. The congress, which began at 3 PM after delays attributed to disagreements over the consensus list, was attended by notable figures including Enugu Governor Peter Mbah, Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma, and Ebonyi Governor Franci Nwifuru.

The new zonal executive is led by Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu.

Governor Uzodimma, chair of the South East Governor Forum, stressed the importance of unity within the party. The congress was also a platform to express support for President Bola Tinubu's economic reforms.

Key motions were moved and seconded, including the dissolution of the outgoing zonal executive and the adoption of new candidates. The event attracted various party leaders, including former Senate President Ken Nnamani and Deputy National Chairman Emma Eneukwu, highlighting the APC's commitment to strengthening its presence in the South East.
