Enugu Disco Resumes Free Prepaid Meter Distribution, Warns Against Bypassing

Enugu Disco has resumed the distribution of free prepaid meters in the South East region, covering states like Imo, Enugu, Abia, and Ebonyi. Emeka Ezeh, the Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC, emphasized the importance of completing meter installations for free and warned against extortion or bypassing.

The initiative aims to address the meter gap in Nigeria's power sector, benefiting over 13,000 customers in the second phase. The program is part of the Meter Acquisition Fund (MAF) established by NERC to provide free prepaid meters to eligible customers by December 31, 2025.
