Enugu Aims to Lead Africa's Tech Ecosystem, Says Ezeh

Dr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh, the Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology, announced that Enugu is positioning itself to become a leading voice in Africa's technology ecosystem.

His remarks followed the success of the four-day Enugu Tech Festival, which attracted 58,000 innovators and highlighted Nigeria's ambitions to emerge as a tech leader on the continent. Ezeh emphasized the festival's role in demonstrating Enugu's vision to actively participate in technological revolutions rather than merely observing.

The event featured discussions on artificial intelligence, blockchain, and Web3 technologies, alongside technical masterclasses focused on scaling products and market fit. Notably, the festival included the distribution of laptops and tablets, an outstanding hackathon, and a N10 million grant awarded to selected startup founders and innovative teams to accelerate product development and market entry.
