Enugu State Targets 3,000 Rural Beneficiaries with NG-CARES

Enugu State is targeting 3,000 rural beneficiaries through the NG-CARES program, which is part of the state's social intervention efforts aimed at improving living conditions in grassroots communities. Governor Dr.

Peter Mbah emphasized the administration's commitment to inclusive development during a program presentation led by Prof. Chidieber Onyia.

The initiative is designed to address economic realities impacting rural households and aims to cushion hardships while expanding opportunities at the community level. Key interventions include providing solar power, improving access to clean water, constructing hygienic sanitation systems, and delivering financial and material support to enhance livelihoods.

Mr. Mondai Diamond Ani, the General Manager of the CSDA, noted that beneficiaries would receive tools to strengthen income-generating activities, including point-of-sale machines and vocational equipment.

The selection process for beneficiaries is transparent and data-driven, ensuring that the program remains free from political interference and is effectively monitored.
