FG Launches 2.5km Road Project to Enhance Rural Access

The Federal Government has commenced the construction of a 2.5 km road in Enugu State, aimed at boosting rural connectivity and economic activities. The road will link the communities of Aji, Isiugwu, and Ufodo in the Igboez North Local Government Area, facilitating better access to farms, schools, and businesses, and linking to neighboring Kogi State.

Peter Ogbonna Ez, a representative of the Federal Character Commission, disclosed this during an interaction with journalists at the commission's headquarters in Abuja. He emphasized the government's commitment to improving road connectivity, which complements the state government's development efforts led by Governor Peter Mbah.

The project is currently ongoing, with the first kilometer nearing completion and features an asphalt finish and a double drainage system for durability. Ez also highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in enhancing the quality of life for residents and supporting government investments in education and health sectors.
