Enzo Fernandez Reaches Agreement with Manchester City

Enzo Fernandez, the Argentina international midfielder, has reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Manchester City, as reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on August 29. The proposed transfer from Chelsea is contingent upon negotiations between the two Premier League clubs, with Manchester City yet to submit an official bid for the 25-year-old player.

Chelsea previously set a valuation of around £120 million for Fernandez and had expected him to remain at Stamford Bridge after City failed to make an offer by their mid-August deadline. However, City’s interest has persisted, and discussions involving Fernandez's representatives are ongoing as the summer transfer window nears its end.

Fernandez, who was signed by Chelsea from Benfica in January 2023 for a British-record fee, has become a key player and vice-captain at the club. Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca, who has previously worked with Fernandez, could play a significant role in the transfer.

Chelsea remains unwilling to sell unless City meets their valuation and finds a suitable replacement.
