Arteta: Guimaraes to Elevate Arsenal After £75m Transfer

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed confidence that new signing Bruno Guimaraes can help the club reach the “next level” following his £75 million transfer from Newcastle United. The 28-year-old Brazilian midfielder was officially unveiled to Arsenal supporters at the Emirates Stadium before a friendly match against Borussia Dortmund.

Although Guimaraes did not play in the 3-2 loss to Dortmund, he is anticipated to make his debut against Como on Wednesday. Arteta praised Guimaraes' attitude, energy, and ambition, stating that such qualities are essential for the club's progress.

He highlighted Guimaraes' versatility, ability to contribute defensively and offensively, and his goal-scoring threat. The addition of Guimaraes enhances Arsenal's midfield options, which include Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, and others.

Arteta also mentioned ongoing efforts to strengthen the squad further and provided updates on injuries, noting that Jurrien Timber is "weeks away" from returning and William Saliba is recovering from a back injury.
