Hull City Terminates David Akintola's Contract for Transfer

Hull City has confirmed the termination of Nigerian winger David Akintola's contract by mutual consent, facilitating his permanent move to Cypriot club Omonoia FC. The 30-year-old joined Hull City from Turkish Süper Lig club Çaykur Rizespor in August 2025.

During the 2025/26 season, Akintola made 21 appearances, scoring once and providing two assists, playing a significant role in Hull City's promotion to the Premier League. He made his debut as a substitute in a 3-2 victory over Oxford United in August 2025 and participated in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup campaigns.

Prior to his time in England, Akintola had played for Turkish clubs Adana Demirspor and Hatayspor, as well as clubs in Norway and Cyprus. Hull City expressed gratitude for Akintola's contributions during his tenure at the MKM Stadium and wished him well for the future as he prepares for his return to Cyprus.
