Iraola Praises Liverpool's Summer Signings and Squad Depth

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has expressed satisfaction with the club's summer transfer activities, focusing on developing the current squad. Liverpool made four significant signings, including the £123m acquisition of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, who is expected to be available for their upcoming match against Ipswich Town.

Iraola defended the club's decision not to sign additional players, such as a right-back or central midfielder, stating that the current signings were deemed sufficient to enhance the team. He mentioned the £60m signing of centre-back Jeremy Jacquet, the £34.5m addition of winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna, and the loan of defender Ronald Araujo from Barcelona.

Iraola also noted the departure of Curtis Jones to Inter Milan for £30m but believes he has adequate midfield options. Additionally, he expressed happiness at retaining Cody Gakpo after Manchester City’s £80m bid was rejected.

Gakpo has started the season well, contributing one goal and one assist in Liverpool's opening two league matches.
