Iraola Calls for More Wingers at Liverpool Post-Salah

Andoni Iraola, who recently took over as Liverpool manager from the sacked Arne Slot, has stated that the club needs to sign more wingers as they adjust to life without Mohamed Salah, who transferred to Trabzonspor in August. This marks Liverpool's first season without Salah since 2016-17, during which he scored 257 goals and won multiple titles.

With injuries to Hugo Ekitike and uncertainty surrounding Cody Gakpo's future, Iraola has limited attacking options to support Alexander Isak. Liverpool signed Victor Munoz and has Federico Chiesa and teenager Rio Ngumoha, but Iraola emphasizes the need for additional players on the flanks.

He expressed the importance of improving the squad rather than just filling positions. Iraola also noted the loss of experienced players like Ibrahima Konate and Andrew Robertson, stating that while the team has young players ready to step up, the transition will require adaptation.

The transfer window closes on September 1, and securing his preferred targets would aid Iraola's integration into the club.
