Maresca Urges Man Utd to Adapt Ahead of Manchester Derby

Enzo Maresca, the manager of Manchester City, stated that Manchester United must adapt to the fixture schedule ahead of the upcoming Manchester derby on Sunday. City had two additional days to recover after their 2-0 victory over Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday, while United secured a 4-0 win against Sabah on Thursday.

Maresca acknowledged that fixture congestion is a common challenge for clubs involved in multiple competitions and referenced a similar situation City faced last season before their match against Arsenal. He emphasized that it is essential for teams to adjust to these demands.

When asked about United manager Michael Carrick's potential feelings regarding the shorter preparation time, Maresca indicated that it was a matter for Carrick to handle. This derby will be Maresca's first since taking over from Pep Guardiola, and he has won all three of his Premier League matches so far.

United has garnered four points from their first three league games.
