Newcastle Sells Guimaraes to Arsenal for £75 Million

Newcastle United confirmed the sale of captain Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal for £75 million, attributing the decision to the midfielder's desire for a new challenge. Sporting director Ross Wilson stated that the club had no intention of selling Guimaraes this summer, but he expressed a clear wish to leave.

Wilson described the situation as emotional, emphasizing that a player's transfer request influences negotiations but does not guarantee a sale. He noted that selling Guimaraes was not part of Newcastle's original strategy for the summer transfer window.
