Michael Carrick, the interim manager of Manchester United, expressed his discontent regarding the red card issued to Lisandro Martinez during the Premier League match against Leeds on Monday night. Carrick described the decision as the worst refereeing call he has ever witnessed, emphasizing that the incident involved a minor hair pull on Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

He argued that the action did not constitute a pull, tug, or aggressive touch that would warrant a red card. Carrick stated that the decision was a clear error and expressed shock at the outcome, especially given that it was the second consecutive game where decisions have gone against Manchester United.

As a result of the red card, Martinez is set to face a three-match ban. Carrick's comments were made during an interview with Sky Sports following Manchester United's 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford.
