Eric Chelle to Announce Super Eagles Squad for Unity Cup

Eric Chelle, the current coach of the Super Eagles, is preparing to announce the squad for the upcoming 2026 Unity Cup, which will be held in London, United Kingdom, from May 25 to 30, 2026. This announcement will take place following a match where Enugu Rangers defeated Bendel Insurance 2-1 in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

In that match, forward Godwin Obaj scored both goals for Enugu Rangers in the 25th and 62nd minutes, with the second goal coming from a penalty. Bendel Insurance managed to equalize with a goal from Owoleiyafa in the 40th minute.

Chelle's presence at the match was part of his ongoing assessment of home-based players ahead of the Unity Cup, which will feature national teams from Zimbabwe, India, Jamaica, and Mali. Chelle has intensified his monitoring of players in the domestic league, including a recent visit to observe talent at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
