Eric Chelle Discusses Contract Talks with NFF Ahead of Unity Cup

Eric Chelle, the current manager of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, has confirmed that discussions regarding financial terms of his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are ongoing. Chelle's current deal is set to run until January 2027.

He emphasized that his primary focus remains on the pitch, particularly following Nigeria's third-place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco earlier this year. In an interview with journalist Osasu Obayiuwana, Chelle acknowledged the ongoing negotiations but made it clear that his priority is to prepare the team for upcoming assignments.

He is set to begin a new round of scouting across the Nigeria Premier Football League to reshape the squad ahead of the Unity Cup in London. Nigeria will open their title defense against Zimbabwe on Tuesday, May 26, with the potential to face either Jamaica or India in the next round.
