Etihad Airways to Resume Flights to Nigeria by 2027

Etihad Airways has officially announced its plans to resume flight operations to Nigeria during a courtesy visit to Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, in Abuja. The announcement was made by Capt Khalid Al Ali, Senior Vice President of Aeropolitical, International and Government Affairs at Etihad.

The airline aims to start flights to Lagos between March 24 and 27, 2027, enhancing connectivity for Nigerian travelers to the United Arab Emirates and beyond. Capt Al Ali revealed a landmark codeshare agreement with Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, which is expected to improve passenger connectivity.

The airline plans to operate daily services using its Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Minister Keyamo welcomed the decision, viewing it as an endorsement of Nigeria's aviation environment and praised the partnership with Air Peace, emphasizing the growth of indigenous airlines.

The meeting included senior officials from both Etihad and Nigerian aviation authorities.
